Summer Bows

Off-the-shoulder, bows and straw bags. All my summer obsessions in one look! And get the DIY tutorial to make this top!

I’ve talked here endless times about my obsession for the off-the-shoulder trend. It’s probably one of the few big seasonal trends that really hit my wardrobe. And why? Well, to start with because it fits my style. Off-the-shoulder tops have a feminine, romantic feel to them and look adorable even with the simplest pair of jeans. By principle, I don’t like to buy seasonal pieces. And here’s where off-the-shoulder tops have won my heart as well. They’re so easy, fast and economical to make that I couldn’t help myself from sewing several variations of this ‘it-piece’ (like this one, this one and this one).

This white off-the-shoulder top with bell sleeves and bows is one of my favorites. I remember falling in love with a similar top at H&M last summer but didn’t buy it since I knew I could make one just like that. And like I suspected, it really wasn’t difficult, you can find the DIY tutorial here.

But more for obsessions. Let’s talk about bows and basket bags. My straw bag has proved to be a really worthy investment as I carry it everywhere (last seen herehere and here, and you can find my favorites here). I’ve been pairing it often with these bow sandals that I found at Zara just before our holiday trip to Portugal, and what can I say, I love a cute bow!

I wore this look often when we were in Lisbon last month. The weather was delightful and it was very pleasant to go out for dinner and walk in the city at night, no jacket needed. How I miss those days…

Anyway, don’t forget that you can find the DIY tutorial for this top here, which also includes two other off-the-shoulder styles, and have a lovely week!
