Valentine’s day is already next week and I thought of sharing with you what would be my ‘date night’ outfit for a weekday, while temperatures are still not favorable for a romantic dress.
I decided to go with a blouse and trousers combo because Vallentine’s day will be on a Tuesday and I, as many of you, will be working and going straight for dinner afterwards. I chose this trendy ruffled blouse which I spotted recently at Mango and paired it with my ‘office’ trousers. These are simple, classic black trousers which I love for being so versatile – an obvious choice when I spend the day at the office but have a meeting/dinner later in the day.
A white blouse with ruffles is by itself a very romantic piece, but I decided I could elevate this outfit a bit more by adding a pop of color. I picked these amazing Steve Madden red pumps and tied the straps around my ankles finishing them with a little bow for extra cuteness ;) They look absolutely adorable! Add a matching lipstick and sparkly clutch and you’re date ready!

As you can see the shoes are the key item of this outfit and what really makes it a glamorous look for a date. I can easily go to work with this outfit and some basic flats, and add the pumps just before heading to my date. If the weather is warmer where you live you could do the same with a dress – this or this one would work perfectly! And if you’re looking for gorgeous pumps you really need to check out Sacha. They don’t only have amazing shoes of their own (both online and in their stores around The Netherlands – do you remember my lovely summer sandals?), but now they also carry Steve Madden!
I’m so excited about this! Until very recently finding Steve Madden shoes in Europe seemed next to impossible, so when I visited the US last summer I made sure to stock reasonably (read – all that could fit inside my luggage)! Now I can simply walk to the city and grab them at the store or just order them online at Sacha and within a couple days I’ll have them at my doorstep. Steve Madden usually carries the trendiest shoes and I find them really comfortable to walk with while having a good quality/price ratio; most of their shoes are leather or suede, yet still made in China, which for me is a minus point, but overall I’m very pleased with all the pairs I own.
Me and Chris usually don’t go crazy about Vallentine’s day, but we do enjoy to go dinner out as most of the times there will be quite nice offers for couples around town, and we see this as a good opportunity to have some fun at a lower price! Whether you’ll be spending this day with your partner, your best-friends or simply relaxing at home the important thing is that you’ll be feeling good. So remember, new shoes do wonders for one’s mood!
