Endless summer

I’m back! After a long break, I’m ready for a new start and can finally share with you what I’ve been up to during my endless summer.

What a long time it has been! I never meant to take such a long break from blogging or social media but with such an irregular schedule over the last six months and so many important things happening in my life – thesis submission, Ph.D. defense, and job search, just to name a few – I really didn’t have the energy for it. I tried to focus on recovering, resting and relaxing as much as possible the rest of the time so that I could start fresh. And here we are! I have just started my job, I’m back to my routine (yes!) and naturally blogging and sharing my passion and projects with you is back into my priorities list.

I had a long summer break, and while I mostly took it offline, I did spend some time crafting. I’ve sewed a couple of garments, I’m almost done knitting my first sweater, I started an embroidery project and I even made my first pair of shoes (more to follow later!). I will be sharing it all with you in the upcoming weeks. To start I wanted to show you this ruffle top I made a couple weeks ago! The pattern is 126A from Burda Style  08/2016 and I love how it turned out. I’ve made it in a heavy crepe georgette in white from Stoff & Stil which I think compliments the pattern really well. It’s cut on the bias and has a really lovely drape to it. Here I’m wearing it with my bouclé Fern shorts I made last year. This pattern from Afternoon is a real favorite of mine and I can’t wait to make some more for winter.

A basic and beautiful top like this really was missing on my wardrobe and I really like how these two handmade pieces work so well together! For the sewing enthusiasts, I’ll be sharing another post about the details on the making of this top and what I’ll be doing differently next time!

I hope to start becoming more active around here these days, and I would love to know which kind of content you would like to see around here. More outfits? More patterns reviews? More tutorials? Let me know! And THANK YOU for sticking around :)

Kisses,

Catia
