If you have old jeans at home and wonder what you could do with them, then this post is for you. The Refashioners challenge this year was all about giving those old jeans a new life. This dress is the result of my refashioning project for which I used two pairs of jeans. Here’s how I did it!
Some of my holiday this year was spent at the Amsterdam Fashion Academy. Yes, you read it right. I know I constantly complain about my summers in the Netherlands (or their non existence) and for me it was a very though decision to take those days to do something like this. I could have been travelling, lying in the beach or being at home doing absolutely nothing (which sounds pretty sweet actually!), but I just felt that it was the right moment.
Another little project, this time for a little boy. The amazing rockets pajamas are finished and ready to take my little nephew’s dreams to outer space! Did I already say how much I love this fabric?
In my latest post (here) I told you how in love I am with lace-up shoes. They are everywhere at the moment and are possibly the most desired shoes for this spring/summer. The lace-up flats are a very cute version of this trend and through this easy tutorial you can learn to make your own, which can save you money, and of course because DIY is always fun!
This week it’s Fashion Revolution week. This Sunday, on the 24th of April, there will be 3 years since 1,134 people were killed when the Rana Plaza complex, a building hosting mostly clothing factories, collapsed in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The victims were mostly women. Since then the Fashion Revolution organization was born and this week is time to stop and ask, “Who made my clothes?”.
As promised, the tutorial to make your own DIY faux fur sneakers is here! Following these steps you can make your own faux fur pads to decorate your sneakers. It works with velcro and laces, and allows for some fun combinations! And if you’re really not a crafter and still would like to get your hands on these faux fur pads, you can enter the GIVEAWAY in which a lucky winner will get to choose a handmade set (by me) for free!
I just finished this little girl’s dress. This is the cutest project I completed so far! Don’t you think?
Matching knitwear was one the biggest trends last season (see here). Of course I planned on making my own and of course I finished late (and blogged it even later), but well, it fits me nice and it is warm and fluffy! If I don’t use it to much this season, a new Winter will come in a few months!
It’s finally here! My latest and most exciting sewing project, a faux fur coat! It’s easy to make, and it’s warm, and it’s glamorous! Oh and fluffy. It is very very fluffy!
It is getting pretty cold now, with predictions of snow for early next week! Brrrr! So warm knits are indispensable and that is what I have been focusing on last few weeks. I’ve made a kimono/cardigan (see here) and now using what was left from that fabric I made myself a sweater. My first DIY sweater is very cozy and I added some twist at the end to my original ideas. I’m very happy with the result and hope this tutorial can help you make one too!
