Cat lady

Hi guys! It has been a while but finally I finished a crop top to match my kitties skirt and I really wanted to share with you what the matching set looks like!

So yes I decided it was time to finish that crop top that was in the pile since last summer. The idea of a matching crop top for my skirt came from the fact that I had some *little* pieces of fabric left when finishing the skirt. Needless to say, at the end this wasn’t enough to cover my breast area and this is why you see some black stripes down the sides. This really was an improvised piece of patchwork at the end. I self-drafted from a top I already had, added darts around the bust for a better fit and finished it with an exposed zip on the back that goes all the way down. If you want to know how I made the skirt you can check it here. As for the rest of the look, just keeping it classy with high heels but adding a biker jacket for the fun! ;)

Any dress with a fitted bodice and a pleated skirt will give the same effect as my crop top and skirt. So you can easily recreate this look with several different dresses with different prints, etc. As for these sandals they exist in so many different colours and are so versatile; I really think the black and nude version are really a ‘must have’ in your wardrobe. They can transform any look into something more formal and chic instantly. Unfortunately the biker jacket I’m wearing is not available anymore, but I linked a similar one above. What I particularly like about the one I’m wearing it is the fact that is has a very classy twist with the shape and length of the sleeves and its simple cut. It really almost looks like a little black jacket!

I really hope you like this look. I really enjoyed making this set and I’m so happy it is possible to style it for more formal occasions too. Because, as you know, I adore the cats print and I want to wear it as much as possible. Let me know your thoughts be leaving a comment below! I’m also really into Pinterest lately and so if you would like to follow for more inspiration you can find me here.

Have a great week,

Cátia

Dear talented friend you do not stop surprising me, seriously…the detail of the black stripes on the side, although it was a plan B idea, in the end, added a really cool detail on the awesome top that you made, with that beautiful cat fabric.
