Blush Floral Dress

I’m finally sharing with you this blush floral dress I got during the summer sale and a thank you note because the blog has turned two years old and without you none of this would have been possible!

Some time ago I wrote a blog post about my conscious approach to summer sale shopping (see here). I picked very few pieces and amongst them was this blush floral dress I had pinned under favorites months earlier. I picked this dress for the gorgeous floral blush fabric, the ruffle detail on the shoulders and sleeves, and the lovely bow tied at the neck. It’s a dress that fits my style and it’s versatile and easy to adapt for different occasions. Here I’m casually wearing it with my new sandals but I plan to take it to a wedding of a friend in a few weeks, for which I’ll add some nude or blush heels.

I’m really happy to finally have the time to share this gorgeous summer sale find with you. It is still available at Mango (now 60% off), but hurry because the sale ends this week! And if blush is not your color, they’ve got the same exact dress in dark blue hues (see here).

A question I get asked often is how do I find clothes that fit me. I’m petite, like many other foreigners in this country, and people with petite frames can face a real problem when shopping. I explained before that I always try to find the perfect fit, so I ideally shop petite clothes when possible – ASOS has been my favorite ‘go to’ online store for petite dresses and trousers. Mango, however, does not have a petite line. I often like their style though so sometimes I see if the particular piece I’m going for would look good on me, I try different sizes, etc. Sometimes, adjustments are needed. And that’s what I did with this dress but reduces the excess fabric in that region.

If you look closely at the dress on their website you’ll notice the bell sleeve just below the ruffle. The sleeves were too long for me, so I opted for removing the flare shape of the sleeve leaving it as a 3/4 sleeve instead, finishing in the ruffle. Because the dress has an elastic at the waist I can fold it a little bit which does not alter the shape of the dress. This is an easy and inexpensive way to adapt this kind of dress to your measurements if your main issue is petite vs regular!

I’m also very excited to share with you my new sandals! Most of you who follow the blog regularly know about my love affair with shoes. I wear flats most of the time and finding gorgeous flat sandals isn’t always easy. But just look at them! They’re a perfect rose gold shade with shining stars and look so good with dresses, shorts, and particularly with denim. This was my last ‘summer’ purchase as I know I better invest my money in good quality boots for the upcoming months, but nevertheless a very worthy one!

  1. Super cute outfit! I love the color of the dress and all things floral. Plus the long sleeve would make it perfect for early fall days (Indian summer here in south Mississippi). Thanks for sharing.
